Description: – A fine and early cup & saucer decorated in the Schwäbisch Gmünd Silver studios of Friedrich Spahr. It is adorned with a stylised floral design in thick engraved silver overlay upon a maroon ground. The silver stamped Spahr 1000 10 to the cup rim close to the handle & 1000 to the saucer.
Size & Weight: – The cup is 5cm tall & 7cm across the rim, the saucer is 11.5cm across. The whole weighs 135g.
Condition: – The fine Ilmenau Porcelain is in superb condition without any chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration. The pure silver overlay by Friedrich Spahr is thick, engraved and without any losses. .
Photography: - Please look at the images as they show a true status of this delightful cup & saucer. There are some light reflections seen following the photography and are not discolourations to the glaze.
History & Marks:– The Ilmenau porcelain marks used from 1934, the Spahr 1000 10 silver marks used for a short period in the early 1930s.
Declaration:– This is original Hutschenreuther Porcelain from the time period described. The silver overlay is that from the Schwåbisch Gmünd silver studios of Friedrich Spahr.
