Description: – A very fine coffee cup & saucer decorated in the Dresden porcelain studios of Donath & Co. The porcelain blank was made at the Hermann Ohme Silesia porcelain factory. This factory produced two types of porcelain called clear glaze and Old Ivory. The clear glaze products were made for European and America markets. Many Dresden decorating studios required fine quality porcelain to decorate their popular wares. Hermann Ohme, Rosenthal and others were happy to supply. The fluted body is beautifully painted in the studios of Donath & co with typical Dresden flowers. The porcelain, painting and gilding are in good order.
Size & Weight: – The cup is 6cm tall & 6cm across the rim, the saucer is 12cm across. The whole weighs 110g
Condition: – Cabinet Piece. The first quality, porcelain is in excellent condition without any chips, cracks or restoration. The gilding is also in very good order.
Photography: Please look at the images as they show a true status of this delightful cup & saucer. There are some light reflections seen following the photography and are not discolourations to the glaze.
History & Marks:– This cup and saucer have two marks. The first which is slightly obliterated (seen on the cup) is from the Hermann Ohme Porcelain manufactory and was sold to Donath & Co in the white, this mark dates from 1883-1930. The other mark is that of the Dresden decoration studio of Donath & co and bears the Crown & Dresden mark 1893-1916.
Declaration:– This demitasse is original Hermann Ohme porcelain from the time period described and painted in the Dresden studios of Donath & Co.
